Default Check engine light, video of code

I have some trouble with my RAM 2500 -95 360. The check engine light goes on maybe once a week but when turn off the truck and restart, the light is off. I have tried the "key dance", but no code. The truck runs perfect. Does anyone have an idea of this problem?

Make sure you have the key dance correct...

Turn the key from "ON" (not "START") to "OFF" three times, the last time leaving it in the "ON" position. The CEL should blink your codes to you. Write down the blinks.

Many auto parts stores will check the code for free. If the CEL is on, especially if its repeatedly, there pretty much has to be a code.

His wont do that. He will have to count how many times the CEL light flashes. I would rather go to a parts store and have them run the code, or buy a scanner for about $90.

he has to buy an OBD1 scaner, and your light goes off because the code that caused it to come on was a "soft" code, meaning it clears itself when the key is turned off. but there will still be a code present in the computers memory, the MIL/SES light will NOT be lit, until the specific parameters of that perticular code are met again.
Also check in the pending codes as well, sometime the codes go back into a pending state, after the MIL/SES light is turned off.

Im not entirely sure where you can buy an OBD1 scan tool at, but if you know someone with a SNAP-ON Modis they usually have what you need to scan a pre 96/97 with OBD1.
