Default OMG! My Dodge feels like a big slug!

So I am still have trans shifting problems in my 2000 Dodge 1500 5.9L. More than likely the governer solenoids. But what the problem is that my truck feels like a giant slug. I would have never noticed, but I drove the shop truck today and feels like it has a lot more pep. My truck is a 2000 Dogde 1500 5.9L auto 4WD, with 285/75/16 and 3.55 LSD. The shop truck is a 2000 Dodge 1500 5.2L auto 4WD, with 265/75/16 and 3.55 open diff. The only difference in the trucks, besides motor size, is the tire size. Would 285/75/16 make that much of a difference? It seems like I have to jam the peddle through the floor in my truck, but there is more jump in the shop truck with only half as much throttle.

Thats not the only diff. You jus said that one has an LSD and an open diff. Yes tire size makes a difference when your running 3.55. Plus, these rams are slugs to begin with. The 5.9 could have a blown plenum or a number of things. Do a search and look for common problems.

The 285/75 = a 33" tire and the 265/75 = a 31. I think its a big tune up time for you.

LOL! No, I'm going to try new plugs and wires, cap and rotor. Could need a tune up. God forbid the plenum fix. I don't have the time for that, nor the funds for new gears.

I didn't see your current miles listed but if you have high mileage it could be time for a new cat converter. Take a rubber mallet and hit the converter underneath and if it rattles it is coming apart and will plug your exhaust system causing a loss of power.
