Default Wheel Spacers Safe?

I have heard several good and bad things about wheel spacers. I love the look of the tires when they hang over a little bit. What do you all think?

Get new rims is my vote. Thats what I did and most do. Spacers scare me.

Yeah, get new wheels.

I wouldn't put spacers on unless it was the absolute last resort (for fitment/clearance issues only though, not looks). There probably safe (or else they wouldn't be produced/sold), just not my cup of tea.

i wouldn't be too afraid of narrow ones, say one inch wide.

but be aware that moving the tires out puts more stress on the bearings, and is often the blame for short bearing life. improper back spacing causes the same stresses.

I think wheel spacers are a waste of time and money. And put too much stress on parts that are already of questionable durability.

(He did ask what we thought)

Wheel spacers will put unnecessary stress on your hub assemblies wearing out your bearings prematurely. Just purchase rims with the offset you are trying to accomplish with the spacers.

I don't know man, my thoughts are the bearing may last longer on a rig that just sees a trail once in a while as apposed to a daily driven truck that drives several thousand fast paced highway miles every few months.

Either way it doesn't matter. Its too much added stress for the already weak hub bearings that can't handle the riggers of the stock tire and wheel package.
