I did it just over a year ago in attempt to prevent further cancer from spreading... but its just laughing in my face. Its driving me crazy. Im about ready to call it quits and just let her rust out. I kinda like the two tone I guess, but I sure miss when it was all nice and shiny yellow... those days are gone with the wind.

Do a search on here... there are so many threads about this its ridiculous. But to sum it up quickly, the front coil springs can be swapped without any modifications and will net 2-3" of lift. The rear leafs will not swap out (half tons are 2.5" wide, 3/4 and 1 tons are 3" wide), but an add-a-leaf will cheaply do the trick.

And welcome to DF!

Sorry my mistake. ( i come from germany )
I thought that a "wheel" is a "rim" AND a "tire" together,
so in this thread i want to talk about 35 inches tires on 17 inches rims.
:-)

@Kindschi:

i wouldn´t mind you jackin my thread *lol*
As a relult i have learned that the front coil springs can be swapped without any modifications and will net 2-3" of lift
thank you @olyelr :-)

... but now back to my rims and tires

In the next step i must find out, which dealer shipps to germany at all and how much the shipping costs and duties are.
so long....

technically it is....and your right.
We just misquote it so much that most dont think of it that way.

I just checked mine out and it looks like I do have the 1 ton springs as well as a "4 inch" body lift under my 35's mine stick out a bit more than olyelr's though so im sure my backspacing different but i couldnt see running this size tire with less lift.

Angry not available ??

Hi guys,

at this place many thanks for your help - you are awsome peoples !

But now, i have a really big problem:
Yesterday i have asked a american dealer for a offer about my wish rims.
He wrote back, that this manufacturer never made that rim in 5 lug patterns !!!!

But it is listed on the webpage from Moto Metal !!
There are a lot of 5 lug patterns in the list !

Here, take a look: KLICH HERE

.. look at the last position in the list, this should be the right on.

The dealer told me, that it is listed but not available.
I think he is joking with we.
I don´t understand this.

What do you think ?
Can somebody give me more exact information ?

I WANT THESE RIMS !!!!! Holy crap!

I would suggest talking to another dealer.

I am pretty sure I have seen a half ton dodge with those exact rims before. And why would they list them on the internet if they didn't make them? I can understand if they are back ordered or something...

Good luck!

well, i don´t know and i don´t understand it.
The joke is, that I have spoken today to a german dealer here. The dealer told me, that these rims are of course available because they are listed.

The problem is, that these rims get no technical release in germany. I need a opinion of an expert ( totally stupid ).
THIS "action" is unaffordable for a private person like me !!

So, first i must find out a person, who can help me with the single certificate of exemption.

.... but i have a request to you:
Can one of you call up a dealer in your region, to ask wheter these rims really have to be ordered in 17 x 9 and 5" on 5,5" ??
I would like to have a confirmation.

Thank you.

They definitely make them in that exact configuration as my young nephew has them on his 2nd gen ram. He has those very rims in that size. I will ask him tomorrow unless I see him at the football game tonight where he ordered his through. I think he ordered his through the tire rack IIRC. I will find out for sure though.

Hi guys,

i would like to give you an update about my favorable rims.
By this time you need in germany a single certificate of exemption for all aftermarket US rims.
These document is too expensive - unaffordable for me.
( usually the manufacturer apply for this document. )

However with original dodge parts there is no problem
and you need no special exemption here in germany.
So i have decided to buy a set of 4 original dodge 17 inch rims like those from olyelr´s truck.

I have found a US dealer but he can only offer the rims,
not the center caps with the dodge emblem.

Can somebody give me a tip where i can buy the Dodge caps ?
Do somebody know a authorized dodge dealer, who ships to germany ?

Thx for help.

Greetz,
Heiko
