Default Spare Tire Question

I have kind of a silly question about my spare tire. When I put it up under the bed of the truck, does it matter what way it faces? Like, does the outside part of the rim (the part you see when it's being driven on) HAVE to be facing up, or HAVE to be facing down, or does it not matter? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Doesn't matter. As long as it's tucked away under the bed, behind the bumper, you're fine.

TIP - face it valve stem down, so you can check/fill the air in it.

The kid I got it from didn't tighten up then one day when i was driving i hit a bump and all of a sudden my spare is rolling past me. The cable just seperated it sucked lol I found my spare floating in the river i was near lol
