Speed Sensor
One more littly problem. So i just replaced my speed senor with a replacemnt from autozone. ran me 37 bucks. I changed it because the ABS and Brake lights were on. also the speedo didnt work from 0-27 and 27-0. Took some adivce and put a new senor in it. It shut the lights off and speedo worked this morning. On my way home from school i looked down at the dash. no speedo and ABS and Brake light are on again. This time speedo isnt working at all. On the plus side. with the speedo not working. the odometor doesnt work. free miles
.
So go replace the sensor again, or should i be looking in a different area

When I first got my truck the speedometer wouldn't start working until about 19 mph. It ended up being the differential speed sensor. Not sure if you replaced that one or the one on the transmission. When the speed sensor on the transmission went bad just a couple weeks ago the speedo still worked it just wouldn't shift out of first.
Recheck the connections at the sensor and the short extension calbe and at the frame for bad connections or damaged wires. they are all culprits. When I first changed mine I thought it was plugged in all the way but it wasn't I had to really push on the connector to fully engage it. It had backed off just ever so slightly as to not make a good connection.
I checked to connects again today. they look tight and good. i followed the wires up until the go between the gas tank and frame. looks like they are going to just have to warrenty the sensor and ill try again.
this time i did get a cel that says speed sensor malfunction. Just no speedo right now. so im just takin her easy

Not specifically related, but similar. My Jeep recently died in June and would not start. Finally traced it down to the crank position sensor. Got one from Autozone and managed to get the Jeep to start up. Unfortunately, a day later the Jeep started coughing and sputtering every few miles or so and then it would be fine. Someone in a Jeep forum suggested we replace the crank sensor with a factory part. I was skeptical, but went ahead and got one. Put it in and the Jeep has been running fine ever since. Took the other one back to Autozone and demanded a refund. When it comes to some sensors, aftermarket may not be your best bet.
