I'm looking into improving the setup of the Ram sections, information, organization, etc. But I want to know what you all want or think should happen in the Ram sections. Feel free to PM me any ideas, concerns, questions, or comments you may have about the Ram Sections, the Mods, or anything else you can think of. Private Messages are just that, private. You can PM me anything without fear of reprisal. Even if it's just "Pyro, you're an *******," I want your feedback.

I'd say that in an attempt to cut down on the OT discussions, that we make a copycat thread from what the 3rd gen daks did. Make an official OT thread here in second gen, so that and BS discussions can go there.

Well my take on it is that perhaps we could have several different thread sections to make things easier for reference etc.. Maybe we could do seperate threads for electrical, engine, transmission, steering/suspension, brakes/drivetrain, exterior/interior, performance, etc.. I also agree with laramie on the idea of an OT/BS thread.

"OT thread" doesn't seem like such a workable idea.
From Obama, to cookie recipes, pet names, global warming to fav video games, it will become 84 pages of unrelated mish mash & flames.
Better would be to have a 2nd gen tech forum, the main forum ,,, And pretty self explanatory.
For technical questions, observations & opinions relating to 2nd gen Rams.
Performance issues, mods, accessories or mechanical, this will be the place for those seeking, and offering, ideas & solutions.
No "how old are you" or where ya from" threads ,,, These can go in the new 2nd gen Ram OT sub forum.
In this way, OT topics can be posted separately, and won't become jumbled up as they will in a single thread.
Guys have become accustomed to each other in the main tech forum, now they can shoot the $hit in 2nd gen OT, if so inclined.

Then again, with a forum wide OT already established, maybe not such a good idea ,, But since I typed all of that already, I'll let the concept stand.
I've personally never visited the forum OT, or any other sub forum, besides 2nd gen.

i like speed's idea, and to make it even cooler, if there is a way to change the advanced search, so you can search just those subforums
and possibly a subforum for second gen n00bs to introduce themselves, even though we already have an introduction thread for the whole forum

so how many "Pyro, you're an *******," comments did you get in your inbox Pyro? you know you are asking for it with that suggestion.

why is everyone trying to split up the 2nd gen section so much?
i could see having an off topic, a "about to buy a ram" section, and a tech section (which includes interior, exterior, engine and suspention all in the same section).

if the 2nd gen forum gets split up too much then it will be like DT and only have a few new posts in each section and you will have to go to each section just to find the new posts instead of just opening one and having all the new ones right there together.

i have a suggestion for any mods/admin guys that can change the format of the site. how about modifying the search to group words together. if i search for something like "whooping noise in engine" then it will bring up every post that has whooping, noise, and engine in it and a lot of the threads it brings up in the search are unrelated. maybe it is already like that and i don't know how to use the search but i think it would be good to have a little check box that makes it only search for all words together instead of searching for each individual word and bringing up a list of unrelated crap.
