Cylinders 3 & 5 Misfiring! Help
I have a 1997 dodge ram 2500 HD 4x4 with 5.9l v8 only 94000 miles and all original. I changed my spark plugs last night and went to drive it today, but didn't sound right. It was not smooth and there was a loss of power. I droveit right back into the garage. The check engine light was on so I used my Hypertch programmer to run a DTC scan. The trouble codes came back and it said cylinder 3 and 5 misfiring. Old plugs were Bosch platinums (which worked great) the new ones I put in werethe exspensive E3 spark plugs. Did not change the MDS 8mm spark plugs wires. Also, I only used WD-40 to help get the plugs outta cylinders 3 and 5. Should I change my wires? What can I do to fix it? Any ideas? ...or should i take it to my shop guy? Thx for any help guys!

Well I put in the new set of spark plug wires and that didn't get me anywhere. The truck will still start and drive, but it is ROUGH sounding. Still loss of power and when I rev it up a little in Park, you hear a small pop or bang sound. Any other ideas guys before I pay big $$$$ at the dealership?

More Info on DTC
No I double checked the firing order out of the Haynes Dodge Manual- its all good. I also may have forgot to mention I also had another trouble code when I got the misfire codes for the individual cylinders. My codes are: P 0300 (random multiple misfires) P0303 and P0305.

Also forgot to add, when I changed the wires, I removed the air filter housing to get to the distributor. The rubber ring that goes to the bottom or the housing to create the seal was dryrotted so I removed it continued to install air filter housing w/out that piece. Is that the cause of my trouble codes? A vaccum leak?
