Default New to me Ram

I've been a dodge owner for some time. I had first gen neon RT, then SRT-4, then 05 Dakota, now i picked up a older '98 2500 Ram. Needed something to tailgate with.

Anyway it needs some new tires. I've been looking over older threads trying to understand what tires and what sizes to get. So I know what the stock is. But if I want to go larger is it a 285/75/16 the right size? I see mention of 31" and 33" tires, but what is the size actually? When looking online at tire rack you have to put in the size.

Thanks,
Shane

BTW, Here is a picture I snapped of my truck.

285/75/16 work out to be 32.8 and alot of people call them 33's

here is a link that will help you
http://www.onlineconversion.com/tire...conversion.htm

285/75/16 would look go on there for a daily driver

nice looking truck. i can't tell - is it 4wd.
someone here recently put 285/75 on a 2wd 1500 and they rubbed real bad.
they'll fit fine on a 4wd.

be sure you get a proper load range E, or at least D, to match the weight capacity of your 2500.

Yeah. 265 75 16 came stock on the 2500's. You can fit 285 75 16's. They will fill the gaps in the fenders and you will have no rubbing issues.

Now, i'm not sure about this but you might be able to fit 305's on your truck. My 1500 has 305's but i have a 3" lift. My dad used to have 305's on his ford excursion 4x4 so i think you should be fine. 305's are a 33x12.50 tire. If they fit they will look vey nice under your truck
