Default yet another thread on "death flash"

I really only had a quick question on my97 1500 ram.
the module that would have the "death flash" sticker is the box looking device with a bunch of wires mounted on the firewall in the engine compartment on the passenger side?
and if there is only a label on it with numbers and a bar code, but no mention of factory updates etc, then that means my truck has never been "updated"?

excuse the "technical terms" I use as I'm fairly knowledgeable in many construction trades-but not so much when it comes to being a mechanic.

ok, that's what I thought-at least I'm in the right area.
but my second question is, if I have no sticker that mentions "updates" or anything like that, then I've somehow avoided the "death flash"? and how do I make sure it's never done to my truck?

If your truck has made any trips to the deal ship it might have it. If it has is it should have a sticker says factory up date.
