Unhappy Well... this sucks (rant need advice)

Ok so I finally after a year of having a single straight pipe coming off the cat bought a Flowmaster Super 44. The muffler is a single in dual out coming off the cat then two pipes going straight out the back with 3 1/2'' hooker exhaust tips. Problem is the truck is damn quiet!!! It was not irritatingly loud with the single straight pipe just looked weird, and i got pulled over by a state cop for my truck being to loud with the straight pipe in the city. I got lucky and got away with only a warning. But to be lawful and after seeing 01dodgeram360's Ram with the S44 on it I was like that is the sound I want for my truck. But it doesn't sound anywhere near as loud as that, barely can hear the truck going down the road it has a nice rumble but not loud and that's without the stereo on.

Is it just because he has headers and (basically) no cat vs me who has stock manifolds and a cat on it? Will the truck be louder once I finally get headers and go duals with no cat? Just a bit disappointed right now. I have alot of money stuck in the muffler, the pipes, and stuff and the truck isn't very loud. I guess can someone just explain why his truck is so much louder then mine? Yes my truck has the 360 in it as well. Just sucks big time. Advice guys?

*Edit* Just to clarify I don't like the ridiculously, wake your neighbours up down the road when you start your truck loud. Just want that nice loud rumble w/a rap like 01dodgeram360's ram has. Just so people don't get the wrong idea.

I'm sure if you put a glass pack on there it would help. I found some new headers over on dt for 345 shipped I got them for 325 I can't wait to put them on.

It's the cat that's killing you. Gut it or straight pipe it and it will be louder.

i have the magnaflow high-flow cat (state emissions) and it did make it louder from the stock cat that was on it. i have headers too, so that might be it as well.

Thanks guys for the replies!
I had been planning on putting headers on the truck eventually, trying to do it one step at time you know how that is. Cat will be eliminated once the headers go on.

Dodge4x45.9: What makes you say that about the glasspack?
