Question regarding cat and check engine light
ive had cat problems with mine. a flashing engine light will come on if your cat is bad and you stomp on it. it tells you right in ur owners manual that the flashing light is strictly for that. and my cat went bad because of my plenum so you should definately get that taken care of even if you think its alright.
thanks for all the replies everybody...have been on the site for years and never thought the cat and plenum prob were related....getting the cat fixed later this week and will definitely look into the potential plenum leak...thanks again, will follow up when i know more.
The best way to check the plenum without removing it is to take off the TB and use a flashlite and one of those extendable small inspection mirrors to look all around in there. IMHO, the vacuum test and just opening the butterflies and looking is a waste of time.
alright thanks, its just weird cause Im sitting here reading all this and im like my gas mpg is good and it doesnt use any oil, no pinging, etc. why would my plenum be shot? lol but thanks again for the heads up
