I have looked for the search on this. My dodge when accelerating kinda hard makes a whiring noise for a bit then goes away. When i take it out of overdrive it doesn't do it. I can accelerate all I want, with no whiring noise with over drive off.I put it in neutral no noise. accelerate in neutral no noise.So does this mean my overdrive is going out?? any suggestions. Its shifts great right now no problems. I pull a horse trailer most of the time and dont want to be stranded on the highway. Should I do the check valve fix and see what happens? I love this truck but cannot afford a transmission failure. This is my second dodge. the first one was a 94 and the tranny went out on it two times. I swore never to buy another, but here I am again.

 

common guys help me out here. I really did do a search and it talks about reverse whine and constant whine but not the one I have.
