need a lil info on band adjustment asap please
i hope i have this in the right place, if not i apologise, i pulled my pan to adjust the low, reverse band.[looked thru lots of threads here and thought i would give this a try, nothing to lose], and the rocker arm the adjustment bolt is screwed into moves about an inch or so on its axcess, not worn and wobbly just, like the piston that moves it is stuck upwards, any help would be appeciated, gotta go to my sons football game in the morning and i kinda need my truck, thanks in advance
This is a very helpful forum, The right people have simply not veiwed this thread yet. If you want decent help be patient and nice and you'll get it.

rear band is:
46re transmission --- tighten to 72 in-lbs, back off 2 turns
47re transmission --- tighten to 72 in-lbs, back off 3 turns
those numbers are straight out of the haynes manual. go pick one up from a parts store and you won't regret it.
i can't remember which transmission the 2500 v10 has in it.
mark your socket and the transmission with a sharpie so you get the correct # of turns.
if you tighten it too much then the reverse band will dig into the drum and that will destroy it. its better to be too loose than too tight.
