make sure they are rated close to what you stereo is putting out....if its a factory stereo it only outputs like 12 watts max and thats why many arent impressed with the sound quality after buying new aftermarket speakers...they are usually rated way higher and it takes more power to drive the coils properly and get good sound from them....
I like poineer (radioshacks speakers were made by poineer too) and polk is another I've had good luck with. and Infinity..theres a big difference between the reference and higher quality lines though.
I would stay away from sony or kenwood speakers...was never satisfied with their sond quality kenwwod were always tinny sounding.

For once augie, I have to agree with you on the speakers choices. For a non external amp setup, Pioneer would work out just fine. The only set of kenwoods I have ever installed that sounded decent were amped hard. That's really the only way to make them sing the right way.

Polk will work, as long as he gets the base speakers. Anything in a component level, and it's not going to be pretty.

Laramie said to use 14 gauge wire when you rewire them.

LOL Max is confused here. He is mixing his build up with Purpl's. Unless purpl upgrades that deck that he has, 16 or even 18 will be fine.

I wont be upgrading the radio for a while now.

Laramie, if you go to the Mopar Nationals next year, will you take a couple extra days off and build me a sound system? Pretty please?

Purpl, if you want, I will piece one together, but it's really not that hard.
