Trackbar source and oil question
Hey y'all,
I'm a new member here. I found out yesterday the ball joint on my trackbar is pretty loose, along with some rod ends. I've been searching for a replacement and was interested in the DT bar, but the link to the seller's page is bad. Is this TB still available? Is there something else out there to look at? Les shwab wanted me to pay 240ish bucks for the same Mastercraft part I can get for 120ish at Schucks. FYI, I have a 3" body lift, but don't think that would affect the suspension, would it?
On another note, I've been having my oil pressure gauge drop to zero (and the check gauges message beeps) and then back up after random tight turns or angles. Aside from a very very small leak under the driver side valve cover, I can't find any oil leaks. I've put a quart in and the pressure goes up 60-70ish, but after a few days (I put ~70 miles a day on the truck) it drops to just below 40 and I start to have the same problem again. I don't see any way I'm going through oil that fast. The exhaust doesn't smoke at all. Does this sound like a pressure sensor problem? Anyone had this kind of thing happen before?
Thanks guys!

This is a good TB, I have one, it is also adjustable. http://thurenfabrication.com/home.html
As far as the oil ?, the most common reason for loss of oil if you don't have any major leaks is the plenum gasket. Do a search on here and you"ll find tons of info about it.

Humm thats odd about there link. I just tried it and it worked for me. I am running that same track bar, all of the Thuren stuff is good too, I am using his control arms and steering system. Luke's Link is another popular one.
As for the oil, see above. The plenum is a very common problem with these trucks. Do a search and you'll find tones of stuff on the subject.

The link in the dt bar info page takes me to one of those automatic search-type pages that generally means someone forgot to pay their annual domain payment. If you've gone there before, you may be seeing the page from your cache, not what's actually there. Either that or we're looking at different links.
Regarding a possible plenum leak, is the burning oil very noticeable in the exhaust? I ask because aside from a little bit of smoke at start-up after a really cold night my exhaust is clear. No visible smoke, no burning oil odor. I've searched the forum and collected lots of info on checking for and doing the plenum repair, that doesn't look too difficult, I'm just wondering if I really have a bad enough leak to go through a quart of oil every couple weeks or if my oil sender is going bad. I have an odd bend in the dipstick tube (Yea, I know how to fix it, I just haven't had the time to work on it) that wipes oil off when I pull the dipper, so I'm not sure what I'm seeing is very reliable and I don't want to just keep dumping oil in when I don't see it coming out.
Thanks for your assistance, fellas.

Ahh, figured it out. The link on the DT trackbar installation page at http://dodgeram.info/tech/mods/trackbar/index.html sends you to an angelfire site which forwards to http://www.dtprofab.com/dodge.htm and .../dodge.htm doesn't exist, so you get dumped to a generic search page. Typing in just http://www.dtprofab.com works.
