Default Front End Quiver???

Hello,
I am currently rebuilding the entire front end on my 99 Dodge ram 1500 reg cab 4wd. She has 155,000 miles and 265/70/17 shoes.

I feel a "quiver" in the steering wheel when hitting bumps. I do not feel the "truck" moving side to side. I also feel a clunk in the steering wheel when I quickly brake/accelerate. I'm not sure if they are the same or separate problems?

Can someone please help me w/ a direction / identifing the problem(s)?

I have just finished replacing the following:
*Upgraded the Control Arm Bushings with Energy Suspension System's
*Upgraded the 2nd gen. Track Bar to the 3rd gen. adj. style (Solid Steel)
*Moog Upper & Lower Ball Joints
*CV Joints
*Front Driveshaft U-Joints
*Brake Pads,Rotors & Hoses

My thought is that the quiver might be because the shocks are going bad... They have about 50,000 miles on them and are just some basic napa brand. I'm about to install Rancho 9000xl adjustables with the 2" lift.
BUT I dont think that would explain the clunk I feel under hard braking/accelerating.

???

Thank you for your time,
Bryan

I guess I should of said this is NOT "death wobble".
The truck does not shake/bounce side to side. It is a just a vibration felt in the steering wheel, like something is loose or worn. A passenger would not feel this. I have also replaced the steering stablizer.

I was wondering if It could be the steering shaft, between the steering wheel and the box???

Yes, it could, but more than likely is something is worn out in your front steering/suspension. Track bar bushing, ball joints, tie rod ends...all could be culprits. Have your front end checked and I bet you find something loose or worn out.

Default Pitman Arm wear ???

I just inspected the front end of my truck and I see movement where the drag link tie rod end bolts to the pitman arm...
I saw no movement where the pitman arm attaches to the steering box...

Do BOTH the Tie rod end AND the pitman arm have to be replaced?

Thanks

No need to start a new thread for the same problem.

I doubt that the Pitman arm is worn, but you may not know the answer to that question until you replace one or the other. If it has been loose for awhile chances are that both are damaged/worn and you'll have to replace them both.

Thanks Miami Son... I just found some movement where the drag link bolts to the pitman arm... BUT I still suspect something else is worn.

Miami Son... I was wondering if you could tell me what tire size your running on your truck.. That thing looks SWEET!!!

Thanks,
Bryan

Relatively lame Remington Wide Brute LT265s. I'll be moving to 33s soon.
