Default 67 coronet 500 Transmission Into My 99 1500?

Hey, first post but definitely not my last.

Just got my '99 1500 4x4 truck (so excited!!).

It has a finicky transmission and I just found an ad for a free 67 coronet 500 318 & transmission.

What is the possibility that I could use parts from the engine/transmission?

Thank you very much!!

I wouldn't screw around with your tranny swap idea. Get yours checked asap by a qualified mechanic and maybe avoid some bigger headaches down the road. They are not cheap to have rebuilt and the Coronet idea is not an option. Maybe you have a simple fix and need to get a good diagnosis. But procrastinating may cost you big time..

as long as it doesn't slip and is just shifting hard or at wrong rpms (if shifting out of first at all it may just be a bad sensor or solenoid....you can take it to a autostore or garage and have them run a code reader on it and you may find some tranny errors the service manual on here can help diagnose them.....I repaired mine reciently and was pretty scared I was going to need a tranny rebuild and am glad I fixed it myself.
