i have a 2001 ram with the single bulb head lights and the high beams come on but no the low beams. I put in new bulbs, checked all of my fuses, and have tested for power at the socket and i have power at all the terminals and when i turn the high beams on i get a ground on the purple and red wire. Does any one have any ideas, or maybe its the switch?

Haynes manual has tests for the switch. Sounds like you have a dead short somewhere. Is the switch plug distorted? Look melted? Any black or burn marks on switch?

 

I havent looked at the switch yet but i will when i get home. thanks.
