I havent really noticed anything on the radiator support or the pcm, but my trucks been beaten on most of it's life in the mud, my catalyst stick has even faded and started to peel.

If I hooked up my OBDII connector to my laptop, would it throw it a code?

yes, it could be on a 96, on the pcm, you should have a sticker anyway and the new one would say auth update, wont show up as a code

Not sure what you searched for, but this same thread was on the first page of the forum. Threads merged.

Go to a dealer, see a service advisor tell him you would like a vehicle inquiry print out. Give him/her your FULL VIN so they can look it up. This should show you all of the warranty/repairs work done on the vehicle whether that dealership did it or another dealership in its history. May or may not charge you, ask first.
