Brake rotors on a 2000 Ram 1500
Hey guys. Just purchased a 2000 Ram 1500 and it needs front rotors and pads. I previously had a 99 ram 2500 heavy duty. Is changing rotors on the 1500 as bad a job as it is on the 2500 where you have to pull the spindles apart too? Or do the rotors just slip on and off the front of the spindle?
as soon as you take the tire off the rotor will pivot down. i haven't seen one seized to the hub yet. then again, my truck is a southern truck that lives on salt-less roads.
you'll need a 21mm socket to get the caliper bracket off btw. the torque is 130 ft-lbs on the bracket bolts and something like 30 ft-lbs on the caliper bolts.
