Look at the Hughes Motor site and it was 89.00 for a kit. Is it worth it to go ahead and do it? Secondly, anyone have the torque specs for the plenum if I do it?

 

That sounds high for a 2000 1500. Offer him 6000 see what they say.I paid $3500 for my 2001 2500..

 

Worth it? To be able to not basically worry about the problem occuring again? Yeah.. I'd think so. Use the Hughes plate with a Felpro gasket, and the install kit with all new bolts(the factory ones are TTY) from Hughes as well. Pick up a Haynes or Chilton's manual, both have the torque spec's and proper order to torque the bolts on the plate and the intake.

 

Okay I'll have that done as soon as I get it, if I get it. The loan officer wasn't at her desk today
