Unhappy Bad News

So I am getting the truck ready to go to KRC to get the SCT and dyno. Truck starts to act up and here is what I found. Appears that I have a cracked head at the number 7 cyl. compression is 75. Number 2 cyl is not much better than that. I also found that my computer is giving me irratic info and some no buss conditions but has not completely crapped out yet. JOY!!!! The only good part about it is now I have to buy the Edelbrock heads, hardened push rods, roller rockers, and cam. Darn the luck. Has anyone had any experience with a place called Z Doctors they rebuild our computers for around 350 (half the price of a new one)

My stock heads and lifters were completly junk. Numerous cylinders had cracks between the valves. #8 cylinder had 38 lbs of compression. I had to buy heavier casted heads and should have went with aftermarket lifters. The OEM lifters are junk. I also checked the bearings and was very lucky I did not lose the bottom end. The rod bearings were shot but the mains looked new.

I just rebuilt my 360 and was very disappointed in the lack of power result. Tight budget rebuild so I stayed with the stock engine profile. Are you going with an RV cam? Also I would think you could pick up a used computer to save a few bucks.

Never heard of Z doctor either, but whatever you do stay away from Auto Computer Exchange. I recieved two DOA computers from them, and was quite the hassel to talk to them. I either got hung up on, or I always got the run-around when I called. That said... you are in florida so at least you would be able to go down there and ring somebody's neck where as I didn't have that option. Up to you. Also Auto Computer Exchange didn't tell me in advance (no information on their website or other form) but when I recieved the first computer it said your waranty is void if you reprogram the computer. So your SCT tune would void it. I was kind of bummed because I have a superchips, but the computer came with a lifetime warranty. :/

Actually a quick search for Z doctor and I come up with nothing on the web except a phone number. Must be a local thing for ya.

I am still running stock trans and I will tell you it has been a rock. I had it checked by a guy that does alot of Mopar stuff. He says that many times the trans gets blamed for alot of things when in fact there is nothing wrong.

Z Doctors is in Orlando and comes highly recommended by the Mopar guys down here.
