Default Different A/C issue-Compressor always runs

Hello all,

great forum you all have here.

it's a great resource for the ram owner.

On my truck the A/C compressor will run on any heater setting except for off.

Just for short term I have pulled the relay, as its getting a lil cold in Chicago.

Anyone know what the problem could be?

No a/c expert here but, sounds like a comp.switch problem.Comp should not engage unless it's on A/C or the defroster mode is on.

sounds like your thermostat if you say you can feel cool air when resistor is on hot

I believe that the compressor runs in all positions. It adds dry air to the heat to keep the windows from fogging.
