Default Frame

Yeah I found and just bought the frame, bought a NV4500 2wd and cored it for a rebuilt NV4500 4wd, and found a 4.10 front axle. now I just need the NP241HD for the swap. I will buy all new coil and leaf springs and the rear axle spacers. I did not want to take the chance of buying a 2500 front end and it not work without just adding the hub extensions although a lot of the parts are the same such as calipers and rotors.

Default admiring what u r doing

hi, i am in the same boat as you, i love my current 2000 Dodge Ram 3500 2wd rwd but i need a 4x4. I have posted a thread on cartalk.com with relatively the same question and everybody tells me to give up and just buy a new truck. i hate that they dont even adress the question, u are lucky in the fact that u have a 4x4 frame to swap the parts onto, i dont. my plan is to get the nessicary parts, remove the independant front suspension, and fabricate a new long arm suspension for the front as well as cross members, and do a coplete lift of 6". its good to know there is other people out there like me who are still enginuitive

If you want to do a 6" lift anyway then you should look into a Dick Cepek long arm kit. It uses fabricated control arm mounts that you bolt to the frame, that way you dont have to mess around trying to find factory control arm mounts. then all you need are some coil buckets for the front springs, steering linkage, driveshafts, transfer case and transmission. everything else should come in any lift kit.
