It's not about fuel going through it. IT's about keeping the air temp as cool as possible (even as slight as it may read in actual measurements) prior to hitting the intake.

Keeping the air cooler is the main point / purpose of the riser block.

well...beyond the technical and supposed toos...it works much better without it. im a big fan of trial and error and results.

if the results are bad...get rid of it!

if the results are good...keep it!

if the reults are outstanding...TELL EVERYBODY!

btw...the air going in should be pretty cool considering where its coming from.

Now, if the riser block was leaking at the gasket areas, then, surely that would have a negative effect on performance thus giving the user the impression that it works better w/o one when in fact, the real issue was a leak at the intake and TB interface.

The other area of concern is how well the gasket is trimmed to the port opening and whether or not there is an overhang of gasket material in the opening thus impeding air flow.
The speedtips and tweaks sticky touches on this.....On many vehicles the spacer provides a performance boost but due to the magnums more inefficient manifold design there was no benefits found with them on our engines....this was dyno tested for both HP and torque....now this was tested on a stock manifold I'm assuming so maybe the hughes reatcts different

I've got the same ebay CAI and have already removed those rubberlike covers with no ill effects so far.

hes talking about the rubberlike covers that block cold air from coming in on each side of the radiator supports....

well it does add a lot of cold air flow under the hood....I was concerned it would allow a lot of crap and water too but what little moisture it does allow to get to the air filter would just add in performance if anything....(redneck water injection lol) either way ran great yesterday in the pouring rain...
