Alrighty. I'll fill it today and see how it goes. If I get same problems I'll replace thermostat.

 

Ok the coolant was pretty low so I added some and took it to the car wash to see if it helped. This time it hovered a little bit above the center mark. It did kinda move around a tad but didn't get up in the top again so thats good.

Where should it stay? I'd say it was around 220 or so most of the time.

I did notice what looks to me a slow/small leak around the water pump but once the motor got warm I couldn't see it any more since I think it was evaporating before it could drip. Is this a sign of the water pump gone bad? or do these have a hard time sealing normally?

 

If the water pump leak is near the shaft, it's toast. There's a weep hole there and once it is leaking the pump needs changing.

 

So it looks like the leak is coming from around the edges of the water pump. Maybe the guy that put the motor in didn't seal it up good enough?

I plan on pullin it off and checkin it out. Where's the best place to buy a water pump and what might I expect to pay?

 

Make sure you clean off the old gasket. Ask me how I know. Worst thing is having to do it all over again.

 

Hah yeah, atleast I didn't do it the first time lol. Its not my daily so I can leave it parked while I work on it...
