Default Truck shakes when not accelerating/decelerating

Basically, it won't start shaking for a minute but after you get driving it and get it on the highway or wherever really in about any gear it gets pretty consistent. If I am accelerating or decelerating (basically keeping tension on the drive shaft) everything is fine. Once I begin cruising, the entire truck starts to shake. This is not like a tire balance shake. At that point, if I punch the gas it stops shaking.

My best guess is either drive-shaft carrier bearing or bent/bad drive-shaft. Does anyone know what this might be and if this is a common problem?

Thanks in advance for the help...

Ok. If it is u-joints would the best bet just be to replace the whole driveshaft?

And I will check if it has a carrier bearing today...

I know it needs an alignment but I don't think that is what is causing the shakes...

if its the u joints...just replace the u joints. make sure to get u joints with grease nipples so you can keep the bearings greased.

Will do thanks!

Any tips on how to check to see if the joints are bad? I'm assuming park on flat ground and leave it in neutral so to there won't be any pressure on the drive shaft then wiggle it and look for play?

Yep. with no strain on driveshaft try shaking and twisting it in every direction you can.
Shoildn't be any slack or play.
If there is play pay attention to the yoke on the rear end and at the tranny end also.

Was too busy fixing the exhaust leak today (successful) that I didn't have time. I'll check the driveshaft tomorrow...
