The SJ 3" and 5" arms are in the 18 and 19" range. They have an odd number like 18 3/16" or something like that. The uppers and lowers are different lenghts as well. So that'd be your starting point for arms in the stock location.

Thanks Aubrey, I saw something somewhere about 1" added to the upper and lower for a 5". But the more input-expertise the better. Long arms ?

That might depend on the manufacturer or maybe you're talking over stock. The upper is actually shorter on the 5" than on the 3" for the SJ. I had the numbers written down somewhere.
I don't know the lenghts on long arms since I don't have them. Fabtech uses a short upper and long lower which I am not a fan of. Most others use long uppers and lowers.

I would think what ever you add to the lower the upper would be close to the same to keep the axle as close to stock angles as possible.

well tht all depends on where you mount the two in conparison to each other.... of coarse.. mine, use new upper mounts on the axle, and the old lowers, but i got new rear mounts of coarse.. and they are a little bit shorter on the top...

If there is anyone out there with a 3" kit with lower arms, and a 5" kit with upper and lower arms could you measure bolt to bolt on your truck and post what you have. Thanks
