Default werid noise coming from driver side engine

i just recently replaced my steering gear box, and hoses, and when i started the truck with the hood open, there is this weird sucking fluid sound coming from what sounds like somewhere around the valve covers? a couple of the outside bolts on the valve covers wer loose so i tightened the ones i could get to, but didnt get to the ones on the inside. they wer loose about 1 full turn. but now there is this sound coming from it(louder when its cold). im not sure what it is. has anyone ever had this or any idea what might cause it?

sounds like the pcv valve, which is in the big rubber o-ring in the valve cover. its sort of a controlled vac leak.

If it is the pcv just buy a new one. Less than 5 bucks and it's a replacement item. You wouldn't "clean" out an old oil filter would you? Just don't get a Fram pcv.
