Ok I know glasspacks ain't the most popular thing when talking to truck guys. However I had true dual 12'' glasspacks on my first truck which was an 85' Dodge Ram with a 318, it was 2 1/4'' pipe into 3'' stacks, it had just regular exhaust manifolds no headers. I now have a 96 Ram with a 360. I loved the sound of my 85 and am looking for that same sound or louder, maybe a bit meaner then that for my 96'. I as previously stated in a previous thread am going to put headers on my truck. So I am going to run true dual exhaust (no cat) in to 4'' exhaust tips. Do I get a 12'' or 18'' glasspacks? I've heard that Thrush glasspacks are quieter then Cherry Bomb's is this true?? It will be noisy when its done, but my 85 was friggin loud but it was mean sounding truck I really liked it.

i have a 18 on my truck not real loud but have cat still and stock manis... but very nice sound

 

Did u have stacks out of the bed on a gas? Thats why it was loud it was right next to yr head.

 

Duh! Of course it will be loud being just outside the cab. lol
But honestly it wasn't as bad as you would think. I'm thinking the 12'' ones will be good.

 

Do they make an 8" one? Or just save the cash and get cool tips?

Well technically the cherry bomb 12'' glasspack is an 8'' case 12'' overall length. Not sure if that is what you were referring to in that question. If I misunderstood I apologize.
