Default Suddenly, no spark!

Hi group,

First post, so bear with me. '96 Ram with 3.9. Last week it all of a sudden would not fire. Turn over yes, spark, no. While thinking about what to do, a couple of hours later it started fine! Wierd. Yesterday, (rainy day in NY), same thing, except today it still wont fire. What are the first things I can look at that will cause this problem? Yes, there is gas in it! Any and all help is appreciated!

i think first thing is to look at coil...battery powers coil-coil-to distributor---distributor to plugs...alternator and everything else is secondary...gotta look at where spark starts...learned that when i was a wee one and workin on snowmobiles..let me know how it works out

also just so you know...heat can make a poorly fuctioning coil into a non functioning coil and when it cools down it becomes a poorly functioning coil again...but it will still work till it gets hot again...hope u can follow that
