About the only thing I've found so far that doesn't like synthetic is the Powertrax No-slip locker.
reckon why it would care. its all metal, no clutches. has teeth that engage/disengage with little springs maintaining the engagement.
not arguing, just wondering.

It has syncrho type deals in it. The manual doesn't recomend synthetic and we found out why after using it in a friends No-slip. It had a lot of problems engaging properly. Dino oil made it much smoother.

I used 75w90 in the front and rear but if you have a limited slip i think it is 75w140 or something like that. To be honest... I can't say I noticed a difference switching to royal purple. In fact after researching gear oils, I think I am going to switch to amsoil next time I need a diff fluid change.
