i have a 1998 dodge 2500 that needs a new rear axle. trying to find a part number for the entire assy. complete rear axle with drum brakes. the fluid went dry and the axle bearings all ended up in the drum and just destroyed everything. any help that anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.

if possible go to a junkyard that has a 2500 and pick up the whole rear end assembly, and the part number, there should be atag under the hood, but like in my case, when my rear end was rebuilt,(done by previous owner) they put the 4.11 gears in, and took out the old sticker, so i had to count rotations etc.

theres many threads on the axles, try doing a search and im sure you'll find your answer
