rims that wont be destroyed in winter?
so im in this debate, i want some rims for my truck that wont get wrecked in the winter.
My rims now are 20 inch and are black and machined with a clear coat over it all and because of winter and mud and rocks the clear coat is chipping off and mud and dirt get stuck under it all.
So does anyone know of some nice rims that i can run year round, not to flashy cuz its soon to be a mud truck.
I like the dick cepek dc-1 black and machined but i have a feeling it is going to be the same issue, chipping clear and always dirty looking

Trust me dude they are the same deal as yr 20's. If this truck is going to be your mud truck I would just buy these. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CRR-3975812/ Or do what I'm doing and throw yr stockers back on there if you have them and tires that will fit them.
I have the very similiar to the post above crager d's on mine ....and some nice aluminum ones I may switch to in the spring and go back and forth....if I can find 35 at tires to replace the 32's.....Anyway point is maybe two sets will give you the best of both worlds?
steel ones are heavy and I dont think they even make them in sizes over 16". Mine are 15"

We get a lot of salt down here as well, and the only way to combat pitting on chrome is to rinse the wheels and the undercarriage off every night. It's cut down the rust issues here a lot.
+1 on steel wheels. And Weldor is from Canada, I think he knows a little something about winter. For what you spend for aluminum wheels, I'd be looking for some options when it comes to winter weather. Mind you we don't quite get the snow that some of you get. But, around here, even if they hear of a chance of snow they spray every road with a brine. Which is basically pure salt water with calcium cloride mixed in for good measure. Its nice for all the non drivers, but a B***H on wheels, metal and paint. My 20's are starting to show their age, so I am shopping new ones. But I also have feelers out for a set of steel OEM 20's for wintertime.
Agree on the steel wheels and would add if you want a nice finish on them get them sand blasted and powder coated.
