First drive in the rain...
Just learn to slide around corners till you can get some new tires. As said above adding weight might help sand bags or patio blocks.
With my old tires they would lose traction all the time in rain, snow and i didn't wanna put weight in the back so I just learned to slide around corners. kinda debating if I'll add weight this winter or not.
oh and don't use 4x4 in rain.

this is sounding like a thread from a few months back where everyone was jumping on a guy that said that he used 4x4 every time it rained.
miami, if i was you i would just throw some weight in in before any rain gets there since it isn't that common in cali. just be glad that you're not in NC, its been raining like 4 days a week all summer long.

ya the ice is a PITA, just need a good set of tires and a bit of weight in the box of the truck to get around, I work up north on the ice roads in the winter and rarely use 4x4, you just get use to sliden around corners lol
SUCKED
Do like I do: when you turn out onto a road, make sure there arn't any cars coming anytime soon and let er roll! I scared the hell out of my brother's friends who were riding with me and trash talking my truck (chevy guys) so I turned right onto the road and got her completely sideways, with the rear bumper in the turning lane!
But in all seriousness, if you just take it easy and antisipate your moves, you should be able to keep your truck under control. Take it from someone who lives on a filled-in swamp land where it rains at least once a week.

I remember NC weather from when I was stationed at Camp LeJeune and Camp Geiger. Not quite as rainy as S. Florida.
