Me personally, straight pipe is great for about 5 minutes. After that, I start to get a headache...and you can forget about carrying a conversation in the truck. Right now I have dual exhaust/flowmaster combo and I'm starting to think I want to go back to my super turbo muffler. I miss that mellow deep tone. To each his own, I don't want to sound like I'm knocking anyone down. Just my opinion.

it would be too loud if you didn't have a cat but when i say straight pipe i mean just pipe from the cat back.

They sound awful. Anyone can make an exhaust loud, sounding good is a different story. Everytime I hear a straight pipe gas pickup and I think "Wow, that guy figured out how to use a sawzall, impressive".
A good quality muffler sounds way better, is plenty loud when it needs to be (my truck is pretty damn loud, and it has a cat) and mellow when cruising.

unless you live next to me and leave for work at 430am...lol...i say "to each his own"

personally...i cant stand the way it sounds...kind of an unorganized garble...heck, i dont like fat chicks either.

that doesnt make it bad for the guys who do. if straight pipes are your thing, i say letem scream...and if you like fat chicks...hell, let them scream too.
