Goodyear Duratrac's

Goodyear Duratrac's
I love my Toyo MT's, would definetly buy them again. But, for a couple of reasons, I am thinking of getting something different this next time around. Mainly because they are still pricey these days(running about $280 each still). I loved the Toyo M/T because it is a good mud/off-road tire, but still has great on road manners. So i'm looking for something in that same class, and came across this new Goodyear Duratrac. I'm not normally a fan of Goodyear in general, but I like the tread design on these. More like an MT then an AT, but still a good amount of siping. Plus they have the Mountain Snowflake Symbol designation which means they are tested and approved for having excellent winter snow/ice capabilities and are certified for severe snow/winter conditions. I've owned a few other tires with this designation (BFG A/T for example), and was very happy in the winter time with them, so that is a plus for this tire in my book. Where I live, and the conditions I drive in, I need that.
So, any reviews on them from anyone actually running them?

Overall they arn't bad... but there are a few things I wish didn't exist. For example after they installed them, even below max pressure the tires seem to bow a little bit (center of tread higher than side) when you look at them. I'm just running a 265 so it isn't like its to wide for the stock rim. Other thing is the sidewall isn't that strong so you do get some swaying effect.. (feels like sloppier steering). One more down fall is these guys love to collect stones lol, but that is any tire with nice tread. They do hum a bit too but that never bothers me. I put them on over the summer so... I don't have a lot of miles on them but I do already see wear on the tred.
Now for the good stuff. They do great in wet weather (rain). My old tires when they broke free would just keep on spinning and you would have to let off the pedal to regain traction. These guy's just squeal loud as anything (sounds like someone was driving fast and locked them up EEEERERERRRRRRRRRR (best i can do lol). Anyway they squeal for a second and grip right up in the rain. As far as mud goes... does great too. I have an open diff and took a few laps at my buddys farm in the potato field. Never had to go in 4wd but my buddies 08 ram did (only because of the street tires haha). So thats all I have tested them out with so far... Rain and Mud. Winter is comming up and from how much they have impressed me dispite their few flaws... I think they are going to do just fine
^ All cleaned up after the pic's below
^ doesn't look like much mud from the picture... But I definately was under the truck pressure washing for over an hour. It all got thrown underneath so... I might have to do mudflaps in the future :/
Lol now no one else steal my tires
