since this is a trans thread, in the mornings when i head out to work, (around 8:45am EST or so,) i start my truck up, and runs fine, when i first put it in gear, if i try to go it slips and revs to around 1800, then starts to move, but by the time im to the stop sign down the road(about 60 feet), its fine after that, but if i let it sit in gear for about 15 seconds before trying to move, it goes with out any problems.

there is no other problems going on, it just happens in the morning after sitting all night, no codes, trans fluid looks good, though i plan on a filter, and fluid change soon, possibly this weekend. btw, what type of fluid? ATF+4? does royal purple make trans fluid? does it do any better than standard atf?
any insight?

Did you by chance do the check valve delete or add the external trans. filter?

yes make sure to put in ATF+4. I used some ATF4 that i got from AutoZone, it was 7.50 a quart, and i used a Lucus Transmission Stop Slip.
And let me tell you that Lucus does wonders min always took a few seconds for the torque converter to engage. Then i changed fluid, Put in the lucus, and it goes like a new transmission, and that was 4K ago now, and i beat the crap out of it up hunting this weekend. Still my fluid is right to the perfect level and still nice and pink, and shifts mint, but remeber to check fluid when in neutral. (just in case you didnt know)

Good luck with that Lucas additive! All the additives do is mask a problem temporarily (some longer than others).

Cause since I did the check valve delete, external filter and added the extra trans. cooler my truck does the same thing as yours. I just throw it in neutral for like 5 seconds while I buckle my seat belt or play with the radio then throw it in drive and away I go. If I just put it in drive after it sat all night it will do exactly what yours is doing.

The purpose of the check valve was to keep the line pressure up after you shut the truck off. Since you dont have it, putting it in neutral engages the pump and builds pressure in the lines then your good to good.

Yes based on my experiences.
Not sure. Got mine off of jegs.com and cost me like $45 dollars IIRC. Its was an electronic gauge not mechanical.
