Question Code 1764 Help Please!!!

I have a 2000 Ram 1500 with the 46 trans. Eng light came on and code p1764 "Governor Pressure Sensor Voltage Too Low" came up. I replaced governor and transducer. Light came back on after about 5 mins. I was told to replace the trans relay in fuse box. Did so and light came back on after 5 mins. I took it to dealer and we did road test while hooked to computer. Governor voltage stays at zero and doesn't move. Tranny tech said he's never seen that happen after parts were replaced. Truck starts in second gear and I drive as manual by putting in 1st, 2nd, and drive. I was told next to replace Transmission Overide Solenoid. I purchased part but haven't put it in yet. I've been told by dealer and local shop that it could be the Trans Ovrde Solenoid, OR could be a wiring problem, OR could be the computer is screwey.

Does anyone know what's going on with this?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd prefer to not keep dumping money into it by replacing parts that aren't the problem.

sounds like it could be the pcm, we have quite a few that come in, and theres no low gear, (though theres no codes either) and in 7 out of 10 vehicles that come in with that problem, its the pcm. but i would replace you have already, and see if that works.

I have a 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 with a similar problem. Initially I was getting P1762 and P1764. I replaced the governor and the P1762 error code no longer appears. My issue seems to be in the Trans. because I don't have the power or pickup in drive until I reach approximately 50 miles an hour, at which point it seems to work fine. When I was getting both codes my code reader indicated I needed to replace the governor and the high / low Transmission Overide Solenoid. Now I'm not sure what I should do, since I still have the Check Engine light (I need to get it fixed soon since I must get my Calif. Smog done before the end of March).

What is high / low? Did you clear the codes? Check TV cable and make sure tranny fluid is full, checking while in neutral. NOt sure if the 95 tranny is the same as 99 though....

Check your downstream 02 sensor, as it is on same circuit as governor pressure sensor and can throw same code and limp mode. Wires could be shorting out or broken.

Thanks for all of the feedback I'll try them starting with the 02 sensor. I didn't see any loose or broken wires, because I have Cancer my wife is always asking people to look at it so I don't have to, the last time I got under the truck and looked. I just looked at the title, not sure why, and notice it is a salvage vehicle so I have to really look into the truck just to figure out what parts are on it and what version computer it has and if there are any updates or changes that might need to be installed.
