well i def see me changing the filter this weekend. for some reason i prob gonna end up dropping pan. i did use the old pickup so im ordering new one of those and prob gonna take back oil pump and exchange it just to be safe. i know its new but hey wouldnt be the first bad new part ive bought before. even still on a cold start shouldnt i have more then 40 psi for oil pressure? what about pcv valve could that have anything to do with it?

i do hear some lifter noise when pressure drops thats why i dont believe it to be the sending unit i am going to try a diff. gauge temporarily to see for sure. if its not losing pressure maybe im not letting it run long enough to build up the lifters with oil. its just hard to let it run long not knowing if there is indeed pressure or not i have alot of time and coin into this engine to watch it burn up a bearing if ya know what i mean.

Here is a list of what i did and maybe this helps for other ideas.
1. all new bearings (crank, rod, cam)
2. new oil pump (standard volume)
3. crank spun
4. block line honed
5. new rings
6. reused roller lifters and cam
7. heads (new valve seals, reground, new guides)
8. every gasket was replaced
let me know if anyone knows something im missing. Alot of time and money invested thus far to spin a bearing. Also there was an oil gallery o ring in the kit but i couldnt see in my manual where and if this is for my application or not. Any one know where this may go if needed for my 99 ram with 5.2?

What brand oil pump did you use?
Also it is possible the pump could be bad like stated above. Inside the pump is two gears and they mesh together just right and thats what creates your oil pressure.
