Default Oops... valve spring retainer

1995 v10 2500

So, i have the heads off and figure i may as well replace the valve stem seals...

i let out on my spring compression tool

and one of the spring retainers goes flying into outer space...

(Not the little keepers, but the washer looking thing that sits on top of the spring)

any ideas on a good place to find a replacement?

there is plenty of v8 ram's in the local junkyard that i could steal one off of... anyone know if it will fit?

That shouldn't be a too expensive part to pick up from the parts store. I've never had the valve covers off of the V10, so I don't know about fitment. I'd call around first to get new prices before I started junkyarding.

I cant even seem to find a part number for the things anywhere...

ill give a few stores a call in the morning and if that doesnt work out i will see about the local dealerships...

i saw a couple ram v8's that looked like they got eaten by a dinosaur at the junkyard, so i figure it wont take too much to get at the valve covers.

the parts store probably just sells the springs and the retainers are included with them and not sold individually.

done waste your time...phone calls...junkyards...etc. cheaper to just buy it new and go fishing or something instead of making a weekend out of a 10 spot.

Default hmm

that's odd, because i went to autozone and the guy said he couldnt get them.

maybe its because he was looking for vehicle specific.

I ended up taking one out of a junk motor. only took 2 minutes as the thing was in pieces already.

thanks for the replies fellas

Furn.
