The MSD coil (8228) that looks just like stock coil is actually the exact same coil as an accel coil, just different plastic color scheme. The manufacturer part numbers are the exact same.

As mentioned, coils wither work or they don't, and unless you're running an aftermarket ignition box like an MSD 6A, there's really no benefit of running a beefier coil.

I don't think there's a spark plug on the market that actually adds horsepower. There are some that run smoother than others, but it's trial and error on each individual truck. I've had good luck with NGK V-power plugs, and Champion Truck plugs, not so much with the Autolite 3923's that some others like.

Well I did just place a bid on an MSD 6AL for $125 on ebay, so I must need a new coil then huh?

Holy **** that looks intense! But I already ordered the MSD Wires. Maybe next tune up I'll get that. I'll probably get the coil and the rotor and cap though!

i did sme research on the E3 plugs, and it did state that they can add 1-2 ponies

NGK Vs are the best in my truck so far...ive tried everything the parts stores sell, from 99cents to 5dollars each...for my truck with the PD ignition, ill stick with the NGK Vs
