The truck I got yesterday has quite a bit of rust on the bumpers... Trucks dark green. thinking about either painting the bumpers completely black or maybe trying to get touch up paint and using that to paint the bumpers... any one done this before? i searched and seen the molding painted but not the whole bumper. thanks.

 

scuff it up real good, remove the rust and use rust convertor on it, maybe even etching primer

 

I painted my rear bumper black and the front trim black as well, just used flat black paint. Sorry I dont have a picture of the back but I think my truck it the same colour as yours. All I can say is I love the look it gave my truck.

 

I painted my chrome grille. Scuff it up real good, and use an etching primer.

 

well i went for it and it didnt come out that bad. only crappy looking spots are where there was heavey rust... used krylon fusion black... did front bumper and all the pastic, the whole rear bumper, and the plastic on the rear tail gate.... will post up some pics in a lil bit.

 

i scuffed it up a little bit with 120 grit sandpaper and went for it... im happy with the way it came out, im sure if i sanded it better and used primer it would be nicer but the truck is a dd/beater for the most part.

 

thats the same stuff i used to paint my front bumper and all the plastic on the tail gate and rear bumper and mirrios it works great. i have had my front bumper painted for a while now and still has not faded so it stays nice for a while.

 

if i didnt have a set of 98+ mirrors on the way i would have done them too.... just need to figure what i want to do about the grill now... prolly just gonna get a new chrome one with billet inserts.. the chrome on it now is shot

 

DUDE...those chrome mirrors are awesome!

...well...i like mine anyway.

 

i thought they were ok but it didn't match the truck so i just scoffed them up and painted them satin black i really want to get those flip up tow mirriors
