Default Changing the look of the front bumper

has anyone painted the bumper portion behind the chrome?

what kind of paint? does it last/ flake off/ peel?

There have been a few people on here that has done that. I have plans to in the near future, but the weather just hasn't been nice enough to do it. It's either been too wet or too hot or too cold to really throw down a good coat of paint.

That's plastic, and if you prep it the right way, it will last. You might want to look in the DIY section for my thread on color matching your grill. That should give you some insight as to where to start.

here's what i did to mine....i think it matches the truck a lot better...the top portion was black and the lower was gray, painted them both red:

^ Have you had any issues with the paint chipping off from flex, rocks, and or bugs?

i like the way that bumper looks painted, but i dont want to paint the top. i like it black, but that works with my truck being white. i just dont like the grey.

i wonder if i use an epoxy paint (like for a boat) and roll it on it should smooth out to a mirror finish and last as far as bugs and washing goes.

leet us know how that work...I have had the same thought of painting the gray! but I would also paint the top bumper because of flipping easily it fade after I put armor all on it!

i did it to mine, i used primer, and regular blue paint to do it

Dodgeboy7 did his over the summer by a body shop and already is cracking. You'll have to talk to him about what he had done and how, but there is one not a success story.
