Default 2001 ram 1500 4x4 auto 5.2L slipping from 1st to 2nd ... common problem?

I have a 2001 dodge ram slt 4x4 automatic 5.2L truck was running ok but no developed a transmission problem. The transmission kind of slips when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear.... i have to press the gas pedal all the way down till it finally kicks in the 2nd gear.... the rest of the gears are working fine....

I did some research online and found out its a common problem. Any one had a situation like this? Am i looking at a total rebuild?

My transmission fluid level is perfect.

Can i use a transmission additive? i heard good things about TransTune...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I scanned the truck but has no codes in it.

additives are not a great investment...but if you must--use seafoam. it will work for you for about 5-600 miles just until you can have the bands adjusted. if you dont know what they are then i dont suggest adjusting them DIY. have your local trans shop do it for you.
