You know almost every 2 gen ram you see is rusted over the rear wheels. I found a good way to get all the road grime and dirt out of there when I replaced my tail light. If you take the taillight out you can take the hose and spray all that crap out of there. Another good way to keep if from rusting is take used motor oil and thain it with kerosene and use a garden sprayer to spray the underneath side of the body and let all the oil to drain out for a day of to it wont rust and you only need to do it once a year.

LMAO yeah OP do that, except don't be like me. I had some moisture in my 3rd brake light so I siliconed it pretty good. Well... I tried to remove it a couple weeks ago so I could spray tint it like the tails. I ended up cracking my aftermarket 3rd brake light so I said screw it lol... Luckly its all led so I won't have to worry about it burning out anytime soon.

my uncle does this and swears by it.... I bought this stuff called zero-rust...its like por 15 but more commercial..never fully hardens. It works awosome on rusted metal to stop it from spreading....I did the inside bottoms of my doors already as well as ground out the PO's ****ty bondo fixes on the beds wheel wells...ground out the rust and coated it all with zero-rust then covered it all up with stainless fender trim. so far so good
I did a rusty steel heavy duty spare/jerrycan/jack carrier on my jeep and when I got rid out it two years later there was no rust reformed on it at all... damn jeep frame rotted from the inside out though so the the oil kerosene thing would have helped with that.

Ggreat tips on the oil inside the doors. Never thought of that. I will spend the money for spray on bedliner across the bottom and fenders. But the inside...never thought if that. Thanks. Gonna look at the 3rd light when I get my hands on her tuesday.

I just changed my oil and sprayed some oil in the doors and when he says not to spray to much he means it. I put 1/4a qt in and its been running for hours. I have 15 gal of used motor oil my dad and I are going to spray out two rams, the jeep and Chevy before winter.

Forgot to tell you that you could also buy one of those electronic things that sends a current through the body and keeps it from rusting

I just put in enough to coat the seems on the bottom edge that's below the drain hole's. (which is why they rot) And I also did the same thing, putting in too much the first time I did it, and it drained for weeks! LOL

I should have know that I was putting to much in because when I got the truck the rear window was leaking so i took all the interior out to fix the window and dry it out. When i took the rear speaker I could see tape covering a hole that went to the inside if the outer cab Conner between the out side panel and the inside panel where they rust and dumped a QT on each side of my truck and oil ran out for 2 or 3 mounts.
