So I bought this for my going away for a while.

The only thing I don't like is the fact that my wheels aren't covered. I thought about taking them off and setting the truck up on jack stand and throwing the wheels in the bed to keep them from getting dirty. Comments?

The cover was purchased from JCWhitney. The product can be found here. It seems like a nice cover. Heavy duty and elastic around the edge. Although I wish the Mopar cover wasn't so expensive.

Covers are great as long as they are good ones that breath, other wise they hold moisture under them and mold, mildew and rust will grow inside the truck. I would also suggest getting a tarp to put on the ground(with some anchors to keep it there) to help with the moisture coming from the earth below to aid in that, and keep the underside of the truck from rusting.

Where are you going? You can buy a set of RV wheel covers and well to protect the tires.

Going to San Antonio for BASIC for the Air Force.

I like the idea of the tarp being anchored to the ground.

What about jack stands, wrapping the wheels up in an RV wheel cover and tossing them in the bed?

It is a good idea to take the tires off, because they can become flat spotted from sitting in one position for too long. And I don't see the need for the RV covers if you have them in the bed with the cover you bought on. And btw, the mice and chipmunks is more to think about.

Eh, I don't really have that issue around here. I'm more worried about crackheads busting in and stealing stuff.

Whatever! You are the one that said take them off and put them in the bed. Stolen or flat spotted, it's your call obviously.

put it on jack stands and replace the lug nuts with 5 different kinds of locking lug nuts. then your wheels will stay put.
