Who knows brakes?
On the rear axle near the left hub is a brake line T that has a metal brake line going to each wheel. But also going into that T is a rubber hose that ends about 2' away above the left rear tire. What is that rubber hose?
That rubber hose is worn and needs replacing. Getting another hose will be easier if I knew what it was and what it did. I looked thru the service manual but it doesn't talk about plumbing much.
Thx guys

It's just a rubber brake line hose, and if you're going to replace it do yourself a favor and get the steel braided brake line instead of the rubber. It's flexible like your rubber hose, but it doesn't expand like rubber, so your brake peddle will be firmer.
The rubber hose doesn't just share a mounting bolt, it shares the actual brake hydraulic fitting that is fastened to the rear axle. But the fitting's guts are a mystery so it's entirely possible that the hose does not connect to brake fluid, but instead passes thru the fitting into the axle.
It's a pretty flimsy looking rubber hose and doesn't look like it was made to withstand 500psi brake pressure. Not to mention it doesn't go anywhere <g>.
