steering wheel

Default steering wheel

My steering wheel is off about half way with the cruise control button up at the 12 oclock postion. Is there a way to streighting the wheel with out taking it off?

either that's the worst alignment problem I've ever heard of, or you've got bigger issues.

I have no steering issues it dont pull either way it dont wonder down the road.

i think you can unbolt the steering shatf by the brake booster and then adj the wheel

No, the intermediate shaft only goes on one way. You need to adjust the drag link sleeve.

yep i think its a 9/16s and a pipe wrench. and have someone sit in the cab to let you know which way to turn it and to tell you when its straight. then tighten it down drive it, and then check it!

It's off because of the 3" lift most likely, an adjustable trac bar like a Thuren would also help correct it.

The track bar will center the axle under the frame, but probably won't recenter the steering wheel. It will help keep the truck from doglegging.
If the OP lifted his truck it effected the geometry on his drag link (steering wheel) and (not mentioned) his toe in as well. This is because the "Y" design encompasses the drag link and pass side tie rod.
So the OP will need to loosen and turn the drag link adjusting sleeve, and should have his toe in and caster checked. I'd hazard his toe in is about 5/8 inch or better, it should be about an 1/8 inch.

what is the drag link adjusting sleeve? and how do you adjust it?
